Tempe is a fermented product originally from Indonesia. The product is well known throughout many countries. Tempe can be made from various raw materials such as soybean, Lamtoro, lentils, surly, dregs of Tahu, peanut dregs, Gude and so on.
Fermentation products generally contain nutrients that are beneficial to the body while the nutritional value of tempe is a high protein content of about 18.3 grams per 100 grams. Besides protein, tempe contains amino acids that are necessary for the growth of body and replace the damage cells. Types of amino acids are isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, cystine, phenyl alanine, threonine, tryptophan, valine, arginine, histidine, alanine, aspartic acid, acid glutamate, glycine, proline, serine. Tempe also contains the minerals, calcium, iron and vitamins B1 and B2.
